The INEOS Grenadier convoy comprising media and influencers, embarked on a thrilling journey, departing from the INEOS showroom in Ghala and making its way to the rugged Salmah Plateau, located in the Eastern Hajar Mountains in Oman. The plateau, situated along the road linking Fins with Tiwi Village in Wilayat Sur, A’Sharqiyah South Governorate, offered the perfect terrain for testing the off-road capabilities of the Grenadier.
The entire route, which started from the INEOS Grenadier showroom and back, stretched to approximately 330 kms both ways. Apart from well-paved road drives, it also covered nearly 50 kilometers of rocky, mountainous terrain, featuring hairpin bends, steep ascents, and descents with gradients as steep as 23 degrees.
As the convoy traversed the rocky terrain of Salmah Plateau, the Grenadier handled the uneven ground effortlessly, turning the hill climbs into a smooth, controlled ascent. With no wheel spin, no excessive lift, and absolutely no drama, the Grenadier’s live axle system proved why it’s an off-road enthusiast’s dream.
The Grenadier’s drivetrain, combined with the heavy-duty torque converter and high-torque output, made climbing the steep rocky terrain look almost effortless. The solid axles and compact center differential housing, positioned high off the ground, were well-protected, while the lower control arm mounts and shock absorbers remained level with the bottom of the differential. Coupled with advanced traction control systems and hill descent control, the Grenadier maintains stability on steep slopes and uneven terrain. The Grenadier’s 35.5° approach angle and 264 mm ground clearance prove effective when climbing gradients of up to 31°.

INEOS Grenadier
The backbone of the Grenadier is a full box-section ladder frame chassis, with heavy-duty solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case and up to three locking differentials. It is powered by a BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six-cylinder gasoline engine, which has been specifically calibrated for this application. Practical features include a 70:30 split rear door, integrated roof bars, pre-wiring for auxiliary lamps and accessories, and a front bumper to sit on. An ‘open-source’ approach to accessories means owners can tailor the vehicle to their specific requirements.
The interior combines versatility and practicality with the latest technology and exceptional comfort. Its intuitive and functional layout features physical switches that are widely spaced for easy use on the move. A central infotainment touchscreen gives intuitive access to a range of information displays and settings menus. An overhead console provides controls and switches for off-road and auxiliary controls. Hose-out rubber flooring, leather seats and numerous stowage options mean the Grenadier is ready for anything work and life can throw at it.
